This is inextricably tied to Italian history. I am new to both, but am approaching it through biography. The question stands whether this is truly Traditionalist. That is up for you to decide. My argument would be that Corporatism is a traditional Medieval economic system.

Please use this thread to provide information about the man, Fiume and Italy.

Odd start of a thread, not much meat so to speak. I have no idea who this was/is. Would you care to shed some light on it?

Mister Gabriele D'Annunzio was an Italian poet, novelist and dictator. He stormed Fiume, a part of Austria-Hungary, which is now part of Croatia, if I am not mistaken, with a militia and formed a dictatorship which later influenced Mussolini and by extension Hitler. You may, for this reason, be interested in him. He revived old Roman symbology, such as the Fasces, which Mussolini plagiarised and Hitler also made use of much Roman symbology and aesthetics during his campaigns and reign. All of this can be linked back to D'Annunzio.

How is this Traditionalist? Well, I do not think you will disagree, unless your profile avatara is ironic - Corporatism (the economic system at play within the D'Annunzian dictatorship and in Fascism itself) is a traditional medieval phenomenon also supported by Maurras and Petain, in France, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I am not an anti-fascist (:D). There are of course things in fascism and national socialism that I like less or disapprove of, which is unavoidable with anything. I find more fault with most christian monarchies, and especially since feudalism ended. The closer something is to nature and truth, the more I tend to like it. Which is why I tend to find myself in the same camp ideologically as old Theodore K, Pentti Linkkola and Varg Vikernes. Not that those are all alike or like the same outward trappings, but hey.

It looks like I learned something new today. Thanks for that.
