The German philosopher Schlegel (18th – 19th century) wrote the following:

“Those who possess energy simply utilize each moment; they are everywhere prepared and infinitely flexible. They possess an infinite number of projects, or no projects at all. In other words, energy is more than vitality – that is, it is active and directed outward, yet it is a universal power, by means of which a whole man constructs and conducts himself.” (Schlegel, vol.2p. 234; AF 375)

For Schlegel energy is free from, or uncorrupted by as we would regard it, a certain objective or aim, which is in stark contrast with our modern market-related thinking: the almighty manager venerated and worshipped in the Western world: put on a pedestal by the consumer market – This ‘Supreme Architect’ (I hope you do not mind my mockery) of the Modern Order – undisputed, respected, idolized- the Head (ratio) reigns over the Unheimliche Cosmos in which energy is always ‘usable’.

In that context energy is meant to produce something, to warm up our houses, to make our cars drive, to make machines operatable, to achieve something. Energy is always present, available to use and now, even in an era of an ecological crisis, and energy is still subservient. Instead of respecting its sacrality it must serve technics (Heidegger). We talk about green and clean energy, but this new type of energy is still meant to serve, to support our petty human everyday needs, our dreadful survival instinct.

We may even become green consumers in order to save the planet; our energy is still different from Schlegel’s notion of a “universal power”. Our energy is not meant to construct and conduct ourselves. It is meant to keep afloat the (false and most idle) image of our-selves as omnipotent creatures, as the main objective of the cosmos. This energy is human-bound and is nothing but a weak moulding, an empty and drained signifier of what “energy” is supposed to stand for. True and pure energy is not goal-oriented the way the marketing ideology tells us how to undertake actions: craving for profit, materialism for the sole sake of generating even more material and ‘things’.
Energy is loacted at the heart of the “order of chaos” (Schlegel). Energy rises like a whirlwind at the heart of which lies the Emptiness, the Absence of God, the Absence of all Reason/Logos. The managers, these corrupt blind architects of the Modern Order, tell us how to live our lives; they tell us how to behave, how to talk to people, how to buy people. The consumer as a helpless slave of /on the global Market. They have become those simple-minded and materialistic ‘black’ magicians – virtual control of our minds by turning us into Weak-willed organisms / non-creative and dependent empty bodies.

The mundanes are being driven by a commercially controlled type of energy. But what about the energy, the Will-to-Power that drives and is generated by Sinister alchemists, madmen, mystics, antinomian artists, totalitarian rulers, sorcerers, witches? Their creative and vivifying potential lies in the very (dark) heart of the Whirlwind, the Vortex accumulating destructive energy; whirling and twirling; rising up from the hidden crypts of the Underground to destabilize the present hegemony and its somnabulists. In contrast to the “finished articles” of capitalist trade the Work of Art is as ‘form’ only arbitrary, it is always unfinished but its sinister intention counts. It does not mean the final point of the Stream of Energy. Construction & deconstruction; inner insemination & transformation that take place in the alchemical furnace fuelled by a constant source of Sacred inspiration.
The non-utilitarian energy fuels the different fases of our hermetic work: the sacred framework in which authentic existence effectivily conducts and constructs itself. Therefore we acknowledge Julius Evola’s and Myatt’s view on Alchemy as an ancient hermetic science, a universal system that is the backbone of the Cosmic (and thus we are part of it). Starting with the hermetic Work implies tapping into the Prima Materia, this dark heart, the abysmal well from whence Life springs and whereto Death returns. Space Scientists have called it Dark Matter but I, an acephalic mystic, see the massa confusa, that which cannot be grasped, that which is Acausal. Those who are ready and willing to conduct and construct their Dasein, their Being-in-the-World should focus on these Sacred stages of the Alchemical Work (for example following the 7FW).

Therefore you can find the Ouroboros or Dragon on top of this post. As Jung describes it in his book Psychology and Alchemy:
“The dragon in itself is a monstrum – a symbol combining the chthonic principle of the serpent and the aerial principle of the bird. It is … a variant of Mercurius. … When the alchemist speaks of Mercurius, on the face of it he means quicksilver, but inwardly he means the world-creating spirit concealed or imprisoned in matter. … Time and time again the alchemist reiterate that the opus proceeds from the one and leads back to the one, that it is a sort of circle like a dragon biting its own tail. For this reason the opus was often called circulare or else rota (the wheel). Mercurius stands at the beginning and end of the work: he is the prima materia, the caput corvi [crow’s head], the nigredo; as dragon he devours himself and as dragon he dies, to rise again as the lapis [stone]. […] He is the hermaphrodite that was in the beginning, that splits into the classical brother-sister duality and is reunited in the coniunctio, to appear once again at the end in the radiant form of the lumen novum, the stone. He is metallic yet liquid, matter yet spirit, cold yet fiery, poison and yet healing draught – a symbol uniting all opposites.“ (Psychology and Alchemy) The cthonic and aerial principle are united and this reflects exactly Bataille’s antinomian philosophy: matter being ‘infected’ by this deadly energy and thus forming the basis for the alchemical transformation. The Hermetics mention the ‘world-creating spirit’ but this can be seen as a metaphor for this non-utilitarian energy. The Opus never stops as the Dragon forms a closed circle: devouring and rising again. The circular as important shape in Hermetic thinking brings us to the Sun.

The Opus never stops as the Dragon forms a closed circle: devouring and rising again. The circular as important shape in Hermetic thinking brings us to the Sun.
Bataille’s Solar Anus or the Alchemical Sol Niger is an important source of this non-utilitarian Energy as the Sol Niger spits out this most deadly energy. One of the demons that is associated with this kind of Energy is Pazuzu. In the book ‘Le Prince de ce Monde’ (‘The Prince of this World’ – a dictionary of demons written by Nahema-Nephtys and Anubis of the – no longer existing – Belgian Satanic Temple Abrasax) Pazuzu is described as an Assyrian-Babylonian divinity, son of Hamps, King of the Evil Spirits, commander of the spirits of the Air and Lord over the South-West Wind. He is the source of sickness, epidemics, and he causes destruction wherever he passes. He lives in the mountains and resides in caves. Therefore this is a prime example of such an acausal, non-utilitarian energy. He is one with the Element Air and brings heat because of the South-West when the Sun is at her peak and thus most merciless. Again you can notice the chtonic and aerial princple. From an acephalic point of view Bataille makes us clear that matter is infused with energy and thus far more than just ‘power’ to do work as we stated above. For Bataille this matter / energy is “profoundly excessive” and it can be compated to a “subversive charge that both founds and undermindes social stablity.” His matter is “base, vile and fundamentally resistant to any use”. And that is exactly the orginial meaning of the Left Hand Path: a path for those who resist social stability, invoke pure and non-moral Evil, those who handle pure filth and adore it. The LHP is therefore not a matter of another morality: its a matter of another kind of Energy which cannot be tamed, used for material purposes, self-enrichtment and other selfish acts. The one who walks the LHP becomes acephalic as he becomes ‘enlightened’, fulfilled with this kind of Numinous force which drives him or her into unknown territories (Sinister Dialectic, encounter with the forces of the Prima Materia). This Energy conducts and constructs the LHP mystic, magician, artist, madman as he goes along.
Bataille did not only focus on the personal inner experience. He was also interested in creating a change on the level of the Society. He called upon the destruction of every kind of community, he glorified War and aimed for the restoration of the Sacred, the Religious. This is the same non-utilitarian Energy at work, but now it conducts and construcs a group of like-minded brothers and sisters as they delve headlong into the infinite well. Bataille himself never completed this acephalic path but we can imagine that the hermetic opus of Evola and the ideas of Traditionalism could have been of great interest to Bataille. Anyway, a traditionalist community/nexion might be the ideal starting point of futhering the non-utilitarian Energy on this higher level and a first step towards an Aeonic development of the Sacred, and from a gnostic point of view, a return to the Beginning.

But first things first: let us protect and further develop what has been given and transmitted to us, namely the esoteric principles of the Hermetic Work as they honour and re-instate the non-utilitarian or acausal energy. Let me finish with one of the main insights of the alchemical work:

Dormiens vigila (I am watchful when I sleep).

Be always watchful: let the utilitarian energy pass by you and focus on that energy that conducts and constructs you according to your Wyrd and the Wyrd of West

I've read that the Order of Nine angles encourages its members to cull the population. I guess the idea is that those who are old, weak and sick are killed through black magic and that they take it upon themselves to accomplish that task.

"The O9A incite and legitimize what those other contemporary occultists and/orself-professed satanists do not, such as human culling, terrorism, involvement withpolitical/religious extremism, criminality, practical physical challenges, and ordeals both esoteric and exoteric."

Nope check the 1st page of this thread and read the culling texts
In alchemic and Hermetic traditions, suns are employed to symbolize a variety of concepts, much like the sun in astrology. Suns can correspond to gold, citrinitas, generative masculine principles, imagery of 'the king' or Apollo, the fiery spirit or sulfur, the divine spark in man, nobility, or incorruptibility. Recurring images of specific solar motifs can be found in the form of a "Dark" or "Black Sun", or a green lion devouring a sun.

Sol niger (black sun) can refer to the first stage of the alchemical magnum opus, the nigredo (blackening). In a text ascribed to Marsilio Ficino three suns are described: black, white, and red, corresponding to the three most used alchemical color stages.

The black sun is used to illuminate the dissolution of the body, a blackening of matter, or putrefaction in Splendor Solis, and Johann Daniel MyliusÕs Philosophia Reformata.
